Our story
Why we started.
Discovery Hub Foundation was incorporated in Washington State in June 2026 and received federal 501(c)(3) recognition the same month. But the reason it exists goes back further than that.
Our founders have spent years working alongside families in the Puget Sound region on education and childhood development. In that work, one pattern kept repeating: the families who most needed support were the ones least able to pay for it. A parent would ask about tutoring, hear the cost, and quietly stop returning calls. A child who clearly needed a speech evaluation would sit on a public waitlist for eight months while the best window for intervention narrowed.
Those were not isolated cases. They were the norm. Discovery Hub Foundation was created to be the answer to them: a charitable organization whose only job is to fund the support a family cannot reach on their own.
We are new, we are small, and we are deliberately transparent about both. Our board serves without compensation. Our filings are public. Our programs are launching in phases so that we grow only as fast as we can deliver well.

Discovery Hub Foundation is governed by a volunteer board. No director or officer receives any compensation from the Foundation.

Treasurer & Director
Oversees financial stewardship, reporting, and compliance. Brings two decades of program and operations leadership in the technology sector.
Shivani Jayaprakasam
Secretary & Director
Maintains the Foundation’s records and governance documentation, and leads youth outreach and volunteer engagement.
Directors of Discovery Hub Foundation are related family members. This is
disclosed openly in accordance with our Conflict of Interest Policy, which
requires any director with a financial interest in a proposed transaction to
disclose it and recuse themselves from the vote. We intend to add independent
directors as the Foundation grows.
